Fire marshal training in surgeries highlights need for adaptable procedures

City Fire Training was recently asked to carry out fire marshal courses London for a number of Doctors surgeries. The two courses for 24 practice managers and 10 receptionists included fire safety legislation, fire risk assessment, fire emergency plans and fire evacuation procedures.

Attendees came from different sized surgeries but what was apparent was that many of those that attended reported busy morning surgeries and very quiet afternoons with far less occupants in buildings. Many required two different types of fire evacuation strategy – Sweep systems in the morning and roll calls in the afternoon.
