30 people evacuated from restaurant fire in Charing Cross, London

Around 30 people were evacuated after a fire broke out in a restaurant and office building on West Street in Charing Cross, WC2 yesterday evening.

Part of the extractor fan from the first floor to the roof was damaged by the fire. The Brigade was called at 1932 and the fire was under control by 2033. Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were at the scene. Crews from Soho, Clerkenwell, Euston and Paddington fire stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation
